フランス語の repos（休息・憩い）に、語尾 -ène を組み合わせた造語です。-ène は、benzène（ベンゼン）や styrène（スチレン）のように、目に見えないほど小さなものの名前に使われる語尾。かたちのなかったその一瞬に、そっと添えられた名前です。
